Physical Science

earthThe Physical Science department offers students at Massasoit a variety of courses to choose from in order to fulfill a general education requirement for graduation at Massasoit or four year institution or to further their interest in a specific area of science. These courses range from physics and chemistry to geology, astronomy, meteorology and physical oceanography. With the exception of astronomy each course has both a lecture and a laboratory component that emphasize both the practical, hands-on involvement with the process of science as well as acquiring an understanding of basic scientific concepts. The courses are designed to reinforce the Cross Curriculum Competencies: critical thinking, technological skills, oral communication, quantitative skills, reading, and writing.

flaskThe department also embraces the position of the disability service providers at the college. Students with disabilities who believe that they may need accommodations in the classroom are encouraged to contact the Coordinator of Disability Services, Cathy Brogna at x1425, or Disabilities Counselors, Andrea Henry, at x1805, or Julie McNeill-Kenerson at x1424, as soon as possible, in order to ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion.
