COMING FALL 2024!

About Our Program

In this dual certificate program, you will learn the basic nursing skills required of a Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide such as vital signs, moving and turning patients, personal care basics, bed making, bathing and feeding, record keeping, and responding to emergencies. You will fulfill your classroom hours through a combination of lectures and hands-on practical skills in our DPH approved classroom and complete clinical hours in a long-term care facility with our Registered Nurse instructors. In addition, you will receive the CMS Hand-in-Hand Dementia training.

Students must take and pass the state board examination to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. The cost of the exam is not included in the cost of the tuition. It is strongly recommended that students acquire or maintain a Healthcare Provider CPR certification. If you do not have this certification, please contact us for information regarding the classes we offer. Students must also purchase textbooks and uniforms.

Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalent and must attend a student in-take session to complete a CORI (criminal background check), provide a completed health form including proof of immunizations and a negative TB test. Please note there may be an additional cost for the CORI checks.
