President's Council for Diversity & Inclusion [PCDI]

MISSION:

Massasoit Community College’s President’s Council for Diversity and Inclusion (PCDI) is an advisory council that provides leadership to advocate for and promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural competency for all through dialogue and programming.

ROLE:

The role of the PCDI is to seek and provide leadership for ongoing learning, discussion, dialogue, and understanding about diversity by all members of the Massasoit campus community, including students, staff, faculty, and administration. The PCDI welcomes, unites, values, and appreciates all people inclusive of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, veteran status, sexual orientations, socio-economic classes, religions, abilities, and ages.

The role of the PCDI is to examine institutional structures and processes to facilitate progress toward diversity and inclusion within the campus community. The PCDI advocates for policies, practices, and programs that foster a diverse and inclusive community. The PCDI will encourage innovative programs and initiatives that will:

  • Celebrate different cultures and traditions
  • Foster an awareness of diverse perspectives and experiences
  • Assure that cultural competency is prioritized
  • and engage the Massasoit community in dialogue.
