Theatre Arts

Theater Arts provides students a strong foundation in the performance and technical fields of the dramatic arts. The curriculum is a blend of theory and concept with practical, hands-on experience in a variety of professions in theater and performing arts. The program offers a wide range of study appropriate for non-majors pursuing a liberal arts education as well as majors preparing for a professional performing arts career.

The Theatre Arts Associate Degree meets the standards for MassTransfer, which is a statewide transfer program that provides Community College students the ability to transfer to a Massachusetts State Universities and the University of Massachusetts System.

Students should meet with an academic advisor and use DegreeWorks to review the proper program and course selection for transfer to a four-year State College/University.

Massasoit Theatre Company

In addition, to promote cultural opportunities and awareness for the college community and the MetroSouth community, the Fine Arts Dept. produces and promotes a performance series throughout the year that encompasses contemporary and classical music, dance and theatre, including a season of plays and musicals produced by the college-sponsored community theatre, The Massasoit Theatre Company.

Shadow Program

An extracurricular training program which allows students to work directly with theatre professionals to learn various technical theatre skills. Each student in the program is paired with a mentor, who guides them through the technical theatre process from start to finish.


A Performing Arts Club for students who want to become more involved in exploring arts opportunities and participating in activities to further their performance skill set.
